Virginia Beach, Deserted
By Nick | February 27, 2008
From time to time in the winter I go down to the oceanfront (46th street at the Northend in this case) to take a walk on the beach. I sat there for a little while just to take it all in. In the summer, the beach is wall to wall people. I was down there for a half hour yesterday and I think I saw a total of 5 people.
In the distance you can see what used to be the Ramada (I think it is a Wyndham hotel now). In high school I had the opportunity of having that Ramada as my backyard. That was the year that I learned to surf. It was a 30 second walk from my house to the the sand. Those were the days.
