    Corona Spy Satellite Program

    My grandfather on my father’s side, Vernard Hughes Webb, lovingly know as Paboy was a pioneer in the world of Reconnaissance Photography for the United States During the Cold War.  He was instrumental in the invention of the camera that was used to take these photographs. 

    Above is a photo of the nosecone of the satellite that took the photographs and held the payload while in orbit.  There are supposedly 3 in existence.  Two are in the Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian and the remaning one is in my grandfather’s living room and has been turned into a table.
