Lets just say that 47 degree water + Me = Not a pleasant experience.
Yesterday there were waves, so I decided to tak one of my new surfboards out (no dings this time!). This was the first time I had surfed since December. I have been itching to get back in the water for some time now. The cold water made it less than enjoyable. Even though I had a 4/3 wetsuit on, booties, and gloves, it still didn’t quite cut it. I only lasted about an hour before it was time to get back into the car for some heater action.
I am thinking that the water needs to heat up at least another 10 degrees before I dip my body into it again!

Sorry I had something in my throat there…it’s cleared up now…
I suggest that if the water is not warm enough for you to surf when I visit next month so that I can take some pictures of your surfing that we SET YOU ON FIRE…which will likely NOT warm up the water all that much, but make for some TREMENDOUS photos…for awhile…until you become all singed, charred, and otherwise…well do I have to continue?
