    Just Call me Graybeard

    By Nick | May 9, 2008

Well, it’s official, I am getting old.  I haven’t grown my beard out in a while and today while looking in the mirror I noticed that there are several gray hairs peeking through.  At the same time I really started to take inventory of the nooks and crannies in my face and the hairline that once was on my head.  It appears that my approach to the top of the hill is near.  Am I bummed about it?  Not really.  When people complain about their age I always laugh.  I mean, isn’t that the goal?  To live another year?  The higher the number means the better you are doing…it means you are winning!

Sure, but do I have to look like THIS while I’m ‘winning’?!?

And at least you still have hair to worry about.

I see your gray hairs and raise you wrinkles and stretch marks…my age has never freaked me out and I share your outlook on “the race of time” (but why does the race have to be across my face?),though I must say, without fear of arguement, it sucks to get old!

As the great and beautiful Bette Davis once said, “old age is no place for sissies”

Okay, for now on from this time forward I will always call you “graybeard”!

btw, whats this obsession with age anyways! Trying to make me feel old or something.

One thing that is cool these days is you can be old but you don’t have to act it. Check out this video of skateboarder Cliff Coleman. He is in his 50s and he still rips and he is the master of the slide.

Notice he has a lot of gray hair and a gray beard!
