I remember the one in 1976, we made viewers at school to look at in as a reflection so as not to melt our little retina’s. It was very cool. I snuck a look anyway…probably explains that spot on my eye…

I rememeber that one if ’76 too. We went roller skating that night and I remember hearing the radio say it would be decades before we’d see another one in our area and I thought how old I’d be…I remember they closing the blinds at school so no one would look at it, and I just remember it getting dark..

I don’t remember the one in 1976. But then again it was the 70s.

You know now that I think about it…
Having seen some of the pre-Olympic coverage in China this week…are we SURE they had a solar eclipse and it wasn’t just the smog blocking out the sun??

You have to love that Beijing, the city of the worst smog in modern times, has a giant flame buring for the next 3 weeks AND had about a 20 minute fireworks extravaganza that sent so much smoke into the air it could be seen on Pluto…
