When in Maine Keep Your Eyes Peeled

    By Nick | August 25, 2008

Beware of the mini horses in Maine.  They may look fake, but when you shine your light for a closer look, they come to life!

When I went up to Maine with Austin and his family to deliver a bunch of surfboards, we came across this seemingly fake mini horse in someone’s yard.  Austin made a wrong turn while with our host, Ron and came a across something in someone’s yard.  It was dark, so he wasn’t sure what it was at first.  Then he shined his lights and the tail moved.  Not believing what he said he had seen, we went to look at it again the next  night.  Sure enough, there was a mini horse in someone’s front yard.  But it looked fake…we shined our high beams and it turned its head and shook it’s tail at us too!  It was hilarious.  The next morning on our way out of the neighborhood we went for a closer look in the light.  As seen by thte picture above, it is obviously a fake miniature horse…apparently it is activated by lights.  It was a good source of laughter for us throughout the entire trip.

You know you want one to put in your yard (http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-76471-FurReal-Friends-Butterscotch/dp/B000F2JZKO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1219687266&sr=8-1)

Fabulous! So, now I’m thinking… light-activated fake furry thing + motion-detector-activated light = possible way to scare those dratted deer away from my garden??
