The Dog Patch at San Onofre State Beach
By Nick | September 10, 2008
This is a video of me surfing at a place called the Dog Patch at San Onofre State beach. It was my last wave of the day and the swell was starting to back off a bit. Earlier in the day the sets were coming in at chest to head high. This break is a Cobblestone beach break. I have heard that it is fairly consistent as far as the peak goes. To the left of this break is another one called Old Man’s. For that one you have to paddle out about 600 yards…..the wave breaks really far out and allows for a really really long ride. Great times.
In this video you will see me after the first guy gets up and rides to shore. Look in the background and you will see me catch the wave and ride it in to shore. Crappy video, but then again what do you expect from a $130 point and shoot camera. Better than nothing I guess.
