Choose a Different Font!

I don’t claim to be a world class graphic designer (because I’m not), but I do have something to say about clients and their font choices.
It seems to me that non-designers think that the only fonts available to them are the ones that are pre-installed on their computers. All the time, when designing logos, I have clients send to me the fonts that they really love and want to use in their logo. Thank goodness I haven’t run into anyone wanting to use Comic Sans or Chiller in their logos, but many times the font that they choose is just as bad as those.
I am here to tell all you non-designers that there is a whole world of fonts available out there at your disposal! Some of them are even free!! And the ones that aren’t free usually aren’t outrageously expensive. Do some research and spread your wings!
When it comes to your business logo you really need to consider using really decent fonts! Don’t settle for Arial or Times New Roman. Get out there, look around. I guarantee that you will find something out there that is better suited for your logo. The more choices you have the better, right?
