Darkness Falls
By Nick | November 26, 2007
In the fall I always dread the fact that the time change is near, making it darker in the evenings. After it happens, however, I love it. Walking out to my car from work at 5:00pm in the dark makes me feel like I have put in a long day…like I actually accomplished something. That may sound weird to some. The other part I like about it is knowing that I only need to mow my lawn one more time until next spring.

You know I love the fall, but I do not like it getting dark so early. It makes me feel like I have wasted my whole day at work and have no time to play. Guess that is yet another reason we balance out-you are all about the work and I am all about the play! All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

The end of summer and daylight savings time always makes me sad. I miss being able to go home after work and take walks on the beach and watch the sun set. I’m ready for summer already!

I hate it too. I always think…”at 5:30 last summer, I was still laying out at the beach…” One new bonus to the time change. My kids fall asleep way early. Before Frosty and Rudolph even come on at 8:00pm. It does give us all a reason to turn in early. That’s working for me right now, at least to get through the horror-days! Soon, January will come and Spring clothes will be out in the stores, and then before you know it Valentines Day and then March, and then Summer! Maybe its not that simple, but if it gets you through….
