    Viva La Mexico!

    By Nick | December 11, 2007

Well…here it is.  My first blog entry about the trip to Mexico.  To say that the views were beautiful would be an understatement.  I have been to Mexico before, but this is by far the nicest place I have seen in that country.  Crystal clear water, perfect weather (until the day we left), food, drinks, and good company…what more could you ask for (I can think of one thing!!!  I wish Christy was there with me!)?  We arrived in Cancun Tuesday afternoon and were quickly shuttled to a town about 40 minutes away called Playa Del Carmen which is just across the water from the island of Cozumel.  When we arrived in this beautiful little town we pulled up to a hotel of epic proportions.  It looked like a Mexican palace.  I guess that is why they called it the RIU Palace Riviera Maya.  It was unbelievable!  There were 5 restaurants, two buffets, several bars, the list goes on and on.

Being that it was an all inclusive resort, we didnt have to worry about anything the entire time we were there!  And let me tell you…the drinks were a flowin’.  One day I had a margarita in my hand at 10am.  And if that wasnt enough, I think that the Corona on tap at various stations throughout the resort has caused me to develop or shall I say redevelop my middle to heavy weight status as a beer drinker!  Even though Corona has low alcohol content I was proud of myself.

And as far as food goes…it was non stop.  I was eating guacamole like it was going out of style.  I was trying fruits and juices that I had never even heard of.  All I can say is wow.  The day I got back from the trip, I was starving all day because I didnt have food at my fingertips like I did everyday at the resort.  I must have gained 10 – 15 pounds.

More Mexico blogs to come…check back for my favorite part of the trip.  The Mayan Ruins of Tulum.

actually sir I think guacamole IS going out of style…so you’re ahead of the curve there.

all inclusive is the only way I think I’d do Mexico…from what I know, outside the gates of those shangri-las is a pretty scary place.

also, take Christy next time ya cheap bastard!

and wait till you have a Corona here in Canada where the alcohol content is a bit higher than Keith Richards liver…woo
