A Hero’s Decline
By Nick | October 18, 2010
Many times in this blog I have written about my grandfather and the impact he has had on my life. He’s quite an amazing man, one that anyone would be proud to be related to or even know. Now that he is 92 years old, things are slowing down a bit for him and that is a difficult thing to watch. Watching him become a prisoner in his own mind is quite unbearable. I take comfort knowing that even though he may not be able to do what he wants to do right now, he has had a pretty amazing life. One that mine and pretty much everyone I know will not compare to.

Nick, you are so fortunate to be part of such a wonderful “immediate” family. I have fantastic childhood memories of Uncle Webb when he would be home on leave. All the Chambers family would be together at Nannie’s. Such great memories and he is an integral part of these memories. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of this family and a part of his wonderful life.
