Skate Rat

Here I am at 11 years old. How much of a poser was I? Check out that bowl cut and the flannel shirt. If I recall that is also a white 17th Street Surf Shop hoodie with the “Surf Naked” logo on it. Too funny.
For those of you that don’t know, Photon was a laser tag place. I think I went there that one time. I am not sure why I got an ID.

I remember that place…never went there though…can you imagine what they’d do if an 11 year old went to school with a shirt that read “surf naken” on it nowadays?? It would be 15 different levels of heart attacks, protests, angry fundamentalist christian parents burning surfboards in orgasmic rapture…sort of like Burning Man but with Jesus songs.
I really should sleep now shouldn’t I?

Ha! So true. But at my daughter’s high school (Go Chiefs!) they walk around with their pierced faces and tongues and navels, cleavage and tummy rolls hanging out and short shorts up to there, razor blade earrings and boys in eye liner with hair in their faces, making out in the halls…but you cannot wear or have a bandana of any color or description in school or at any function (that includes parents, yes..parents)and no profane of obscene sayings on your shirts. You can carry a condom but not a tylenol. No wonder the kids are all so darn confused!

Nick,
looking at your picture and noticing the date it makes me feel like an old man! In 1986 I had already been working for several years in the FD and was married and all that.
