Bands That I Miss
By Nick | February 8, 2008
I was sitting in my car listening to a cd I hadn’t listened to in a long while and it got me to thinking about bands that I wish were still together (or alive) and still making music. And also bands that just don’t seem the same anymore.
Here’s the short list:
Sunny Day Real Estate: Super badass band. Branched off into other projects, so I guess it is ok.
Blind Melon
Toad the Wet Sprocket
Nickel Creek: They just had their farewell tour…very sad. Definitely one of my favorite bands.
The Minutemen
The Smashing Pumpkins: Before they started doing whatever it is that they are doing now….not good.
No Doubt: Before they sold out…they used to rock! Now, not so much. So much for selling out.
Self: The one man band of Matt Mahaffey. He now tours with Beck. Rumours that he will rerelease as Self are surfacing.
And we can’t forget The Beatles

I very much miss Toad the Wet Sprocket!!
Something’s Always Wrong is my favorite track of all-time.
Shell and I were having breakfast the other morning at a local pancake place which usually plays crappy John Tesh like musak, but they have new management now and they actually had some good rock n’ roll on, including Toad the Wet Sprocket…awesome.

Um…I cannot believe you left Zeppelin off that list. I think you’ll have to make that one up to me in some grandiose manner that includes foot rubbing and perhaps ice cream.
