During the summers of my childhood, I spent ton’s of time at the farm with my grandfather. One day when I was 11 or 12 I decided I wanted to learn how to make root beer. My grandfather and I hopped in the car and went from store to store to gather all the necessary equipment and ingredients. We got back and made home made root beer. I distinctly remember making it. When we were done, we put the bottles (a few dozen) under the house for it to ferment and cool and do whatever root beer does before drinking it. At the end of the summer we went back and drank it. Believe it or not, it wasn’t that bad.

The seven bottles were what was left under the house 21 years ago. I decided to take one out and stick it on my mantle as a memory to one of my favorite memories as a kid.

When I went up to Maine with Austin and his family to deliver a bunch of surfboards, we came across this seemingly fake mini horse in someone’s yard. Austin made a wrong turn while with our host, Ron and came a across something in someone’s yard. It was dark, so he wasn’t sure what it was at first. Then he shined his lights and the tail moved. Not believing what he said he had seen, we went to look at it again the next night. Sure enough, there was a mini horse in someone’s front yard. But it looked fake…we shined our high beams and it turned its head and shook it’s tail at us too! It was hilarious. The next morning on our way out of the neighborhood we went for a closer look in the light. As seen by thte picture above, it is obviously a fake miniature horse…apparently it is activated by lights. It was a good source of laughter for us throughout the entire trip.

You know you want one to put in your yard (http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-76471-FurReal-Friends-Butterscotch/dp/B000F2JZKO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1219687266&sr=8-1)
